About SAPS Learnerships
SAPS learnerships are made available yearly within each Province of South Africa. Candidates wishing to apply must do so within their own Province. Most of the SAPS learnerships will be for a duration of 24 months and include a monthly stipend. The Police have several offices with precincts in each national region within South Africa.
The focus of the South African Police Services learnerships is to aid in filling positions that may open in the future, as well as be providing safe and secure assistance for all. Candidates will learn about causes or road accidents, road traffic signs, traffic and road laws, along with criminal activities. Candidates will be involved in coordination or development of crime prevention methods, operations, and maintenance of the Police services.
The Metro department has grown tremendously over the last couple of years, but it has hopes for more growth and a better community partnership within the immediate future. They assist in many road situations, community policing, illegal usage of the road and more.
Learners with this program will learn all that is required in criminal law, police ethics and community policing within context to all issues. Most of the SAPS learnerships include a study training period, as well as a field training period.
